Cancellation of the 2024 SENRS Annual Meeting Due to Severe Flooding in Asheville, NC
The SENRS Executive Committee would first like to offer our deepest apology for the rapidly changing updates regarding the 2024 SENRS Annual Meeting. Despite previous reports, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Southeastern Neuroradiological Society (SENRS) Annual Meeting scheduled for October 2024 over concerns for the well-being of the people of the area, as well as the safety of our attendees.
We wish to be fully transparent with the decision-making process and consequences. We received initial reports from the hotel that they were optimistic to resume normal operations soon. As such, they would not recognize our force majeure clause and expected us to continue the meeting. After ongoing negotiations and new assessments that have shifted expectations, they are now willing to honor our force majeure clause and allow us to cancel the meeting without penalty. After much discussion and our own assessments of the situation, we are all in agreement that cancelling the meeting is the best course of action. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, exhibitors, and supporters who had planned to join us. Again, we want to be fully transparent about all that has occurred, so please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. Our contact information is listed below.
We are committed to returning stronger than ever for the 2025 meeting and will share further details in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing you in October 2025!
Refunds for registration fees will be issued shortly. If you have already booked a hotel room, please remember to cancel your reservation as soon as possible. Feel free to contact us at senrsinformation@gmail.com if you need any assistance.
Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic event and we are committed to providing awareness and support to our society’s local community. Dr. Brad Mitchell has led an effort to identify the best ways to contribute and we strongly encourage you to consider donating to the relief efforts.
